Healthy Meal Planner
Project overview
Cuisinez (= cook in French) is a weekly meal planner composed of healthy, balanced and easy-to prepare recipes from across the web. It provides an easy to follow path for those who are interested in leading a healthier lifestyle and knowing more about what they are fueling their bodies with. During the course of this project, I was able to draw upon every aspect of my experience in product management, from idea to launch.
My roles
- Ideation — Noticed a growing general interest in healthy eating and a lot of fragmented information on the subject. Fleshed out the idea of a weekly meal planner by talking with friends, family and acquaintances and discovering the need for a quick and easy-to-follow way of eating well.
- Design — Started by sketching out a few ideas and wireframes by hand, discussed and iterated them with target users and created high-fidelity prototypes of the MVP in Adobe XD.
- Development — Used the knowledge I gained working with talented developers over the years to code the front and back ends of the application using established libraries and frameworks (jQuery, Bootstrap, CakePHP).
- Launch — Relied on my hands-on experience in digital marketing to get the word out about the healthy meal planning service.
The results
- Beta testers mentioned that the app was easy to use
- Over 85% of respondents said they were interested in using the service
- Over 200 people on the waiting list
- WYSIWYG interfaces for quick addition of recipes and articles
- + automated site updates that greatly reduce maintenance needs
“I'm going to sign up as soon as the service is available.”
